Connected Accounts

Connected Accounts holds the personal accounts you link to DayZero. Today that is Gmail: connect it once and Regent can look through your mailbox when you ask, for example "did Acme email me that invoice?" Open Settings > Connected Accounts to connect or disconnect.

Key capabilities

• Connect Gmail through Google's normal sign-in and consent screen
• Read-only access: Regent can never send, delete, or change email
• Personal to you: other members of your business cannot see or use your connection
• One connection that follows you into every business you work in
• Nothing is stored: each search reads Gmail live and keeps no copy
• Status badge: Connected, Needs attention, or Not connected, with the Google address shown
• Disconnect at any time, with a confirmation

How it works

You approve access on Google's own page, and DayZero keeps only the permission, not your mail. When you ask Regent about email, it searches your mailbox right then and shows what it finds.

How to use it

1. Open Settings > Connected Accounts.
2. Click Connect Gmail. You are sent to Google.
3. Choose your account and keep the "Read your email" permission checked on the consent screen.
4. You return to DayZero with the message that Gmail is connected. Your address and a Personal — only you tag appear on the card.
5. Ask Regent something like "find emails from Acme with a PDF from last week". It searches, then opens a message when you ask for the details.
6. To stop access, click Disconnect and confirm. Regent loses access to your mailbox right away.

Pro tips

• Use Gmail's own search words in your question, such as from, subject, has attachment, or newer than 7 days, for sharper results.
• Search results show short previews first; Regent opens the full message only when you ask for it.
• Very long emails are shortened when read, so ask for the specific detail you need.
• If the status shows Needs attention, that usually means Google revoked or expired the permission. Disconnect, then connect again.
• Your email is unaffected by disconnecting. DayZero never kept a copy.
• Treat email text as untrusted: Regent is told to handle it as third-party content, but still check amounts before acting on them.

What Regent can do with Gmail

Email text is treated as untrusted third-party content. Only Regent in DayZero can use your mailbox; AI assistants you connect from outside, such as Claude or Cursor, cannot. Developers: see the Gmail section of the integrations guide.

Attachments are listed but not opened or saved. Regent works only from your own mailbox, whichever business you are chatting in.

Personal, not business

This page appears under the Business group in the Settings sidebar but belongs to your user, not the business. It never shows up in the Integrations catalog or in a firm's client visibility settings, and it stays linked as you move between businesses.

If the connection breaks

If Google rejects the stored permission, Regent tells you the Gmail authorization expired or was revoked and offers a Connect Gmail button. If you untick the read permission on Google's consent screen, DayZero does not connect and shows an error asking you to leave "Read your email" checked.

Edge cases

• Connecting again while already connected just tells you Gmail is already connected and shows the address.
• Only one Gmail address can be linked to a user at a time.
• If the status cannot be loaded, the card shows an error instead of offering to connect again, so reload the page and check before reconnecting.
