Inventory Reports

The Reports tab answers three questions about your stock: what it is worth, how long it has been sitting, and why it has been adjusted. Each report is a card on one page, and each downloads to CSV for your workpapers.

Key capabilities

  • On-hand Valuation grouped by Location, Category, or Vendor, with units, lots, value, and share of total
  • Inventory Aging in five age buckets, plus the 20 oldest variants
  • Adjustments by Reason over the last 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, or all time
  • Totals at the top of every report so you can tie out to the balance sheet
  • A CSV button on each card, and a Refresh button to reload the data
  • Search within each table, and saved views for your usual grouping or time window
  • Legacy free-text adjustment reasons flagged so they can be cleaned up
  • Needs the Commerce & Inventory add-on; it works in both Finished goods and CPG modes

How it works

Valuation and aging read the cost lots created when stock is received or produced, so they reflect the same cost basis DayZero uses for cost of goods sold. Adjustments by Reason reads the manual adjustments recorded against your stock, including those posted from a count.

How to use it

  1. Open Reports from the Insights group in the Inventory sidebar.
  2. In On-hand Valuation, click Location, Category, or Vendor to change the grouping. Read Total value and Total units above the table.
  3. Search the table for a group, or click CSV to download the current grouping.
  4. In Inventory Aging, review the five bucket cards, then the Oldest variants table below them.
  5. In Adjustments by Reason, pick 30d, 90d, 1y, or All, and review the count, net units, and dollar impact per reason.
  6. Click CSV on any card to export it, or the Refresh button to reload after new activity.
  7. Save a favorite grouping or window as a saved view so it is one click next time.

Pro tips

  • At month end, compare Total value on the valuation report with your Inventory balance on the Balance Sheet, and look into any gap before closing.
  • Group by Vendor to see how much working capital sits with each supplier. Stock with no default vendor lands in Unassigned.
  • Group by Category only works as well as your product categories. Uncategorized products show up in an Uncategorized row.
  • Aging buckets turn amber at 61-90 days and red past 90. Use the Oldest variants table to pick items for a promotion or write-down.
  • A high Shrinkage or Damage dollar impact is your cue to tighten receiving checks or storage. Pair it with a fresh count on the Counts tab of the Inventory workspace.
  • A "legacy" tag marks an older free-text reason. Use the standard reasons on new adjustments so the report stays clean.

In-depth guide

On-hand Valuation

Column Meaning
Group The location, category, or vendor
Units On-hand units in that group
Lots How many cost lots make up the value
Value Units at their recorded cost
% of total Share of total inventory value

Only lots with stock remaining count. By Location, a product's average cost per unit is applied to the units held at each location, and units not assigned to a location appear under Unassigned. The empty state reads "No on-hand inventory yet".

Inventory Aging

Buckets are 0-30, 31-60, 61-90, 91-180, and 180+ days, measured from the date each lot was received. Each card shows value, units, lots, and percent of total. The Oldest variants table lists up to 20 products with their oldest stock, in Days oldest (amber over 60, red over 90). With no lots, it says "No cost lots to age yet".

Adjustments by Reason

Reasons include Shrinkage, Damage, Expired, Count variance, Theft, Transfer, Return, Receipt correction, Found, and Other. For each, the report shows how many adjustments were made, the net units (negative in red), and a $ impact. The dollar figure is an estimate: the size of each change multiplied by the item's current unit cost, so gains and losses both add to it. The default window is 90 days. With nothing recorded, it says "No adjustments recorded in this window".

CSV exports

Each CSV matches what you see on screen: the valuation file is named for its grouping, aging includes both the buckets and the oldest variants, and the reasons file lists every reason in the window. Money columns are in cents in the file, so divide by 100 for dollars.
