Shared Links
A shared link lets someone without a DayZero account look at one deck, dashboard, or conversation, or send you one bill, without logging in. Each link opens a single item, is read-only (or, for bills, submit-only), and can be turned off.
Key capabilities
- Shared decks: a live, view-only copy of an AI Reporting deck
- Shared dashboards: a view-only dashboard that keeps up with its scheduled refreshes
- Shared conversations: a read-only copy of an AI chat, for your organization or for anyone with the link
- Bill submit links: a form where a vendor or contractor uploads an invoice, which lands in your inbox as a draft
- Choose how long a link lasts, see its status and view count, and revoke it at any time
- The link is shown once when you create it; DayZero never shows it again
How it works
You create a link in the page you are looking at and copy it. Whoever opens it sees only that one item. Opening a link never gives access to the rest of your business.

- Deck: open the deck in AI Reporting, click Share live link, pick Link expires after (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days), and click Create live link. See AI Reporting.
- Dashboard: open the dashboard in Dashboards, click Share, choose Link expires (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or Never), and click Create link.
- Conversation: in the AI chat, choose Share conversation, pick Organization only or Anyone with the link, and click Create link. The link is copied for you.
- Bill submit link: on the Vendors page (also the Inventory Vendors tab; see Vendors), find the Bill request links panel, click New link, add an optional Label and Vendor, choose when it expires (Never, 7, 30, or 90 days), and create it.
- Copy the link immediately and send it. It cannot be shown again; create a new one if you lose it.
- To turn a link off, open the same dialog and find it under Active links (decks) or Existing links (dashboards), and click Revoke. For bill links, expand the Bill request links panel and click Revoke on the row, then confirm. It stops working at once.
Pro tips
- Use short expiries for anything sensitive. Seven days is the default for decks and dashboards.
- Create one link per recipient so you can revoke one without affecting the others; views (or submissions, for bill links) are counted per link.
- Choose Organization only for conversations unless you truly want them public. Public conversations hide personal details, but read them first.
- For recurring contractors, pre-select the Vendor on a bill link so every submission is filed under them.
- Revoke links when a project ends. Expired and revoked links show as Expired or Revoked.
In-depth guide
What recipients see
| Link | Recipient sees | Cannot do |
|---|---|---|
| Deck | Title, period, and visible slides, with a note when it last updated; refreshes every minute | Edit, export, or see hidden slides |
| Dashboard | Title, description, and widgets as last refreshed; refreshes every minute | Edit, set alerts, or see widget sources and names |
| Conversation | The messages in a read-only chat view | Reply, give feedback, or see tool details |
| Bill submit form | A form headed "Submit a bill to" your business name and your label | See anything else about your business |
An expired, revoked, or unknown link shows a notice such as "This link is no longer valid" or "Unable to load". An organization-only conversation asks the viewer to sign in, and shows a "no access" message to people outside the business.
Who can create and revoke
Creating links needs the same access as editing the item. Dashboards can be shared only by people who can edit them, and you can share only your own conversations. Decks and bill links need write access to the business. Revoking a deck or bill link needs delete access to the business.
Conversation links
Conversation links last 30 days. Anyone-with-the-link views always mask personal details such as emails and account numbers; organization-only links mask them by default. Viewers of an organization-only link must sign in and belong to the business (or its accounting firm). The app currently has no list of conversation links, so you cannot revoke one from the screen. Prefer Organization only when in doubt.
Bill submit links
The vendor enters their name or company, email, amount, an optional invoice number, due date, and description, and attaches a PDF, PNG, JPG, or JPEG up to 10 MB. They see a reference number afterwards. The bill arrives as a draft in your Bill Inbox and you are notified; nothing posts until you confirm it. Possible duplicates are flagged for your review. If the link has no vendor, DayZero matches the submitter by email or name, or creates a new vendor. Links also limit how fast submissions can arrive. See Bills for the review step.
